Matt Johnson, Sculpting "Icebreaker" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ (Part One) ~ 27 minutes.

The first part of my latest Community Access programme, featuring local artist/sculptor Matt Johnson, who works with huge pieces of junk which he heats in a furnace and then bends and manipulates into intricate sculptures, spot-welding the various pieces into elaborate, abstract statues.

I shot Part 2 (completion of the "Icebreaker" sculpture) on Sunday and will be shooting Part 3 (Matt's Open Day) this Sunday (October 25th).

I'll be submitting this first part to local Community Access Stations (Amherst, Deerfield, Easthampton and Northampton) during the week.

This is an updated version, which includes Matt's intro-to-camera and some stunning night-shots from Part Two.

Duration : 27 minutes.

The Bears Are HERE...! (20 minutes)

Easthampton's wonderful bears have ARRIVED..!

The June 13th Grand Unveiling was a tremendous success, and thousands of people flocked into Easthampton to see, and be photographed with, all our bears. "Bears everywhere!" just as the Mayor, Mike Tautznik predicted.

The programme has been shown on Easthampton's and Northampton's Cable Access stations recently and is showing on Amherst's ACTV this week and next week.

Any artists who painted a bear whom I HAVEN'T yet interviewed please get in touch and we'll arrange a video session so's you can tell us about your bear and be included in the "Souvenir" video &/or the proposed final documentary.

An Introduction to our little City of Easthampton ('Gazebo Nights' video) (30 minutes)

The open-air concert season is back with us!

Summer is nearly here!

Here's a repost of the first 'Gazebo Nights' piece that I shot last year (June, 2008), the start of a series for local TV stations showcasing Easthampton's weekly open-air concerts.

Not so much a record of the gig, more a travelogue for Easthampton, giving a good 'feel' for the city and for the people who live here.

Features the music of local Classic Rock group, "Landslyde."

Duration : 30 minutes.
